Design Philosophy

Cold regions are given to extreme stereotypes that often obscure real experience. Our design team, and the people we collaborate with on a day-to-day basis, live and work in these extremes. Along side shipping logistics, snowdrift management, energy-efficiency and long-term operational considerations are the cerebral contrasts unique to the polar world: light and dark, cold and warm, inside and outside. These are complementary realms whose natural cycles accentuate one another. We are inspired by the dynamic power of the world around us and look to each project as an ultimate challenge to our views of habitation in cold climates.
