  The new Joamie Elementary School is the first CBIP building in the Canadian Arctic. Completed in February 2005, this new school is an example of new building practices for the North designed and constructed to achieve a CaGBC LEED™ Certified rating along with meeting the energy efficiency NRCan CBIP program. At about 2800m2 the single storey K-6 facility for the Department of Education, Government of Nunavut incorporates a variety of features to meet the LEED™ and CBIP goals.
