Cultural, Leisure and Sport

Through a unique, community driven design process, we orchestrate the interaction of all participants - citizens, owners, and operators. We integrate needs assessments, demographic research and economic data into designs that accurately reflect the unique character of each community.

Buildings that house northern culture and recreation face the challenge of representing the mosaic of ethnicities that inhabit our circumpolar world. We respond to a longstanding need to develop and encourage northern customs and language while meeting the needs of a new generation.

Gone are the days of dedicated spaces for specific uses. We are designing the new breed of recreation facilities that literally change themselves on an hourly, daily, and seasonal basis in response to activities and age groups. The outcome is consensus driven with a deep level of satisfaction for all participants.

FSC was responsible for the design of the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre, the first quality performance space north of sixty which houses plays, concerts and because it is integrated the newly renovated Sir John Franklin High School, encourages broad student participation in the dramatic arts and supporting technical roles.

Our areas of specialization include:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Spiritual Centres
  • Sport & Recreation Centres
  • Community Complexes
